Live then listens constantly for all MIDI data on those tracks. Once you're done playing, press the Capture MIDI button on the transport and Live creates a new MIDI clip with all captured MIDI data in any armed/monitored tracks. Note: The button is greyed out when there's no MIDI data to capture. Live's Arpeggiator effect takes the individual MIDI notes from a held chord (or single note), and plays them as a rhythmical pattern. The sequence and speed of the pattern can be controlled by the device, which also provides a full complement of both classic and original arpeggiator features. Live can receive either MIDI Clock or MIDI Timecode (MTC): MIDI Timecode is the recommended option if the external sequencer supports this, as MTC has a better resolution. However, MIDI Timecode does not transmit any tempo information. You'll need to set the tempo manually in Live to match the tempo of the master sequencer. I've already written a tutorial about setting up MIDI controllers. But what if you don't have one? Then you can use the computer keyboard to play MIDI instruments. EDIT: in Live 10 and up, having the computer MIDI keyboard active, deactivates some of the added one key shortcuts. So it's best to only activate it.
Hello everyone.
